As an artist, I situate my practice close to the figure ofthe craftsman: processual, physical labor, often learningnew skills from scratch. I am interested in a hands-onapproach to making, in what things are made of, howthey are made, what matter itself is and what itcommunicates. I also draw on tools rooted in archivalwork: I go through archives, build collections, gathermaterials, scraps, fragments of seemingly insignificantthings. I am interested in how these objects act upon oneanother, how they are interconnected. My thinkingabout the structure of my work itself is grounded in themetaphor of rhizomatic systems, without central points,without hierarchy.I also feel a strong affinity with the metaphor ofgeographic archipelagos: visible and invisibleconnections that form coherent systems. Sometimesthey surface, but more often they remain beneath it,forming invisible yet present, underlying networks ofexchange and dependency.For me, art means telling stories that are seeminglyinsignificant and peripheral, yet carry the potential tocreate worlds or to expose hidden ones. I am fascinatedboth by history itself and by how it is constructed, by itsinvisible cracks and folds, forming a multilayered wholethat is never fully closed, stretched across time. Mypractice operates precisely on this border: betweencenter and periphery, object and its performativity,voyeurism and process. Between what is visible andwhat is imperceptible, yet still felt.
I was born in 1987. I come from Jarosław, Poland, but I live and work in Portugal.
I work across various media: performance, video,installation, and scent. I am interested in how theyintersect, and in blending threads and materials. Thestructure of my work often resembles a baroquepatchwork or a Chinese box: peripheral stories openonto further stories, completing one another. Some arenested within others, some are barely hinted at. Someare larger, some smaller. Together they form themeaning of my theoretical inquiries, the sum of thework between research and practice.
